At Reliable Transformers, we have been driving renewable energy integration for over a decade.  Our expertise spans more than thirteen major solar projects across South Africa and beyond, along with thousands of smaller inverter-duty units, - starting from 50kVA - powering small-scale and renewable applications.

Our renewable journey began in 2015 with the supply of all inverter transformers for what was then South Africa’s largest solar PV plant, an 86MW facility in the Northern Cape. Commissioned on schedule in May 2016, the plant continues to operate reliably today - still powered by the same transformers we supplied.

Since then, we have delivered high-performance inverter and auxiliary transformers for landmark projects, including three adjacent solar plants near Kimberley with a combined capacity of 258MW—the largest single installation in the country.

Beyond large-scale projects, we also design and manufacture self-contained mini substations—containerized or skid-mounted—for smaller solar, wind, or hybrid storage applications.

Built for Africa’s demanding climates, every transformer we engineer is designed for long-term reliability, thermal efficiency and environmental resilience.

Partner with Reliable Transformers - and let our experts manage the  transformer side of your renewable project, so you can focus on powering a sustainable future.
